COAST GUARD AUXILIARY UP-COMING ACTIVITIES

COAST GUARD AUXILIARY PARTICIPATION OPPORTUNITIES

  • MEMBER TRAINING:  An overview of Member Training guidelines and District staffing can be found on the District 11SR website. More information can be found on the U.S. Coast Guard Auxilliary National Training Departments Training Resource Center website. Other training resources, online exams, manuals, Power Point Presentations, etc. can be found on the Auxiliary eTraining site.

  • PATROLS. Qualified crew (or those that are working to be) contact the flotilla operations officer to participate in our active Surface Operations program. Crew training is ongoing throughout San Diego with opportunities within the Flotilla and with other Auxiliarists throughout the county. In addition to on the water safety patrols, there are opportunities to be part of the auxiliary marine patrols, parade patrols, Radio Watch program, participate in dock watch patrols and ATON verifications.

Courtesy Vessel Examinations. All qualified Vessel Examiners have continuous opportunities throughout the year to participate in VSC activities in the Chula Vista boat basin and all of the San Diego waterfront.

Chula Vista Marina Marine Gear Swap Meet. The Chula Vista Marina provides a booth for the USCG Auxiliary at all of their marine gear swap meets.

Public Affairs:. Let the public know who we are and how they too can be involved. Disseminate information to the local media outlets about the Auxiliary Public Education Courses, Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary public policy and Recreational Safe Boating Information. Southern California information can be found on the District Public Affairs website.

    MEMBER TRAINING:  

    As Member training opportunities are scheduled in 2007 they will be listed.  Contact the Member Training officer if you want to complete a "self study" course.

    OPERATIONS - The Department of Operations is responsible for the administration of the Auxiliary's Surface Operations, Air Operations, Telecommunications and Aids to Navigation Programs.  Each of these responsibilities is represented by a specific Division in the Department.  An Operations Education Division  handles training criteria and information for the whole department.
